Pete Best

Heartland Cafe and Sapporo present:

PETE BEST
The Pete Best Band delivers the raw, thumping intensity of the Beatles' savage sound during the early sixties.__ The band are proud of their authentic sound and energy. Right from the first beat, you'll be immersed in nostalgia, listening to 'the best years' of the beatles, 1960-62. The Pete Best Band line up changes from time to time, comprising of session musicians both young and older!... The Pete Best Band captures the sound of the Beatles in their formative years - the early years for many 'was' The Beatles.

John Lennon summed this up well - "We were at our best when we were playing in the dance halls of Liverpool and Hamburg. The world never saw that."

Bang Camaro

Bang Camaro

BANG CAMARO
www.bangcamaro.com

Boston's Bang Camaro is more than a metal band. It is its own metal universe; a self-contained cosmos encompassing the last quarter-century of metal - pop metal, hair metal, speed metal, thrash metal, glam metal - writ large, loud, and proud.

Yes, you've heard all the riffs before, back when you were a kid hanging in a heavy metal parking lot in the 'burbs, cranking Dio or Iron Maiden, and plotting the weekend itinerary for the Def Leppard concert (cue up "Pleasure [Pleasure]"). Which is precisely the point. Like fellow throwbacks Waltham and Damone, Bang Camaro - a local supergroup of sorts comprised of members of some of Boston's best past and present rock bands (the Good North, Model Sons, Taxpayer) - is all about the good times that were shunted aside and put away all too soon when "adulthood" beckoned.

The Camaro's debut full-length rights this egregious wrong with tracks like the Thin Lizzy-esque, shredded-be-thy-name rock holiness of "Rock of Mages," the narcissistic grandeur of "You Know I like My Band," and, of course, a power ballad ingeniously titled "The Ballad" (one for the ladies, and lovers everywhere). Fear not: Bang Camaro have come to save our sorry, rock-depleted souls, and they're taking no prisoners. They've brought "electric fire," a gazillion guitars, and, like, 20 singers, dude. Sure, KISS may have had their Army, but Bang Camaro *is* the Army.

Psychostick

Psychostick

PSYCHOSTICK
www.psychostick.com

For some reason the Squizz XM station 48 began playing their song "BEER!" in late 2005 and got an overwhelming response from the listeners. So much so that the track hit the #1 spot on their top 10 countdown for 7 consecutive weeks, but stayed on in the top 10 for much longer than that. After that, they began playing "Two Ton Paperweight" as well and got great responses from that as well. Not long after that, Ebaumsworld.com started hosting the flash movie for "BEER!" on their site. Then Collegehumor.com did the same thing. Toward the end of the year, CD sales were increasing exponentially, and the guys were contacted by Lunatic Radio and interviewed over the phone that November.

Now it is 2008, and as you can see, the band has become increasing powerful, or popular, whatever. Both, perhaps! When Godzilla first came out in 1954, he was actually called Gojira, kind of like Asinine. And like the band, I bet he got increasingly more popular with time too, although I wasn't personally around to see it. Over the years, he battled many other monsters and won the hearts of millions of misguided fans all over the world. He also had many different looks and designs, like all the members that were in the band over the years. Psychostick may not be a bunch of Japanese guys in monster suits, but they're pretty cool anyway.

So the point of all this is that Psychostick = Godzilla. Except, Psychostick isn't going to put $200 million into a project that Hollywood is just going to screw up...

Doomsday Wrestling

Doomsday Wrestling

DOOMSDAY WRESTLING
www.doomsdaywrestling.com

Described as being like the WWE but intentionally funny-and named "Best Comedy Show" by the Houston Press' 2007 Best of Houston issue-DOOMSDAY Wrestling has been making crowds laugh hysterically since 2003. At every show, fans of wrestling, violence, comedy, and absurdist theater alike merge into a single, rabid horde, screaming for blood, hurling cheese puffs (handed out by DOOMSDAY cheerleaders at the beginning of the show), and waving signs to cheer on their favorite characters. Crowd interaction is a common phenomenon. The energy level of a DOOMSDAY show is extremely high. Expect a mad rush of adrenaline and enough laughs to make your cheeks sore. To see videos of matches from past shows, visit http://www.youtube.com/DoomsdayWrestling.

Once Nothing

Once Nothing - First Came The Law Record Release Show

Bridgeport Entertainment Presents

ONCE NOTHING
"FIRST CAME THE LAW" - RECORD RELEASE SHOW

www.myspace.com/oncenothing

Self-described as "blue-collar metal," Pittsburgh Pennsylvania's Once Nothing exemplify that moniker perfectly, embodying the grit and glory of the Steel City, possessing an unrivaled work ethic and a rarely paralleled song-craft.

In describing the concept of "blue-collar metal," vocalist Todd Lowry explains, "Our mentality now and in the past has always been to tour as much as is humanly possible and show people what this is all about." Knowing that actions speak louder than words, the band proceeded to play nearly 500 shows in the past two years alone.

Always eager to please their existing fans, as well as stun new ones, Once Nothing are proud to present First Came The Law, a churning, brutal blend of hardcore, metal and southern rock that is set to turn the hardcore scene upside down with its uncanny precision, exquisite execution and defiance of genre. With the precision and polish of a band that takes its craft seriously, Once Nothing have achieved the difficult task that few bands before them have done - creating a metal record that will be loved not only by metal fans, but also by those who typically do not like metal.
